We continue visiting all 34 municipalities of Miami-Dade County to ensure that the government works for the people, not the other way around. Recently, we met with the Mayor of South Miami, Javier Fernández, Commissioner Steve Calle, Assistant Police Chief Larry Corbin, and the city team to address real solutions that simplify the lives of our residents, provide greater access to services, eliminate bureaucracy, and focus on real results.

Residents deserve fast, efficient, and accessible services, and that is precisely what the Tax Collector’s Office is working on. Our office provides essential services, including:

✅ Driver’s license services
✅ Property tax payments
✅ Vehicle registrations, plates, and titles
✅ Local business tax processing
✅ Parking permits for persons with disabilities, among many other services that benefit our community.

The beautiful City of South Miami is located in the heart of Miami’s urban district, with a population of over 12,000 residents, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Census. Mayor Javier Fernández and his leadership team are highly interested in bringing our services closer to their residents, and we will work together to make this vision a reality.

The Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office has already met with more than half of the municipalities in the county, and in some cities, this initiative of bringing services closer to residents is already moving forward. One example, is the City of Miami Beach, where we are actively searching for and securing a location to open the long-awaited Miami Beach Tax Collector’s Office for the benefit of the residents.
