With great success, the Honorable Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade Tax Collector, inaugurated for the first time in the county’s history driver license services at the Tax Collector’s Office, located at 200 N.W. 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33128. The launch of this historic service was celebrated with a well-attended ceremony by elected officials, public servants, and community and county leaders.
During the event, the Tax Collector emphasized the importance of this achievement, pointing out that, just five weeks after taking office, he is fulfilling one of his promises to prioritize the needs of Miami-Dade residents. "This is a crucial step to eliminating the bureaucracy that has prevented many of our residents from accessing the proper driver license and motor vehicle services," said Fernandez.
From now on, Miami-Dade residents will be able to carry out a variety of transactions related to driver licenses and motor vehicles at three service windows dedicated to this purpose at the Tax Collector’s Office. Available services include the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle titles, license plate renewals, plate surrenders or transfers, as well as processing parking permits for disabled individuals and baby stroller parking permits.
This new service is in addition to the traditional services already provided by the agency, such as property and business tax payments and the issuance of hunting and fishing permits. It is estimated that the office will be able to serve up to 90 people daily for driver license services, and residents are encouraged to make an appointment online through the official website: mdctaxcollector.gov.
This advancement reflects the Tax Collector’s commitment to the Miami-Dade community, continually striving to improve the resident experience and ensure access to efficient and modern services.
