The Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office is taking steps to improve convenience and accessibility for residents by partnering with local auto tag agencies. With the upcoming transition, our office will soon absorb the nine driver license offices that were previously managed by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). This transition will enable our office to oversee the issuance of driver licenses and identification cards.
In addition to this, the driver license offices will now become a one-stop shop for a variety of services. Residents will be able to take care of motor vehicle registrations, license plate issuance and surrender, and specialty parking permit decals (including handicap and baby stroller parking permits). This change aims to provide a more efficient and comprehensive service to the community.
Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with the Aventura Auto Tag team to discuss how we can collaborate and streamline these services. Strong partnerships with auto tag agencies are key to improving the accessibility and efficiency of our operations. As your Tax Collector, I am fully committed to working together to enhance the service experience for Miami-Dade residents.
With this new collaboration, auto tag agencies will continue to serve residents closer to home, giving us the ability to extend our services and support throughout the county. This partnership ensures that residents no longer need to take a whole day off from work to renew their registration or handle license plate issues. The goal is simple: to make these services more readily available, improving efficiency and accessibility for the 2.7 million people in Miami-Dade County. Together, we will continue to enhance our services and better meet the needs of our community.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this important transition!
