Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined County Commissioner Raquel Regalado, Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, and his fellow Constitutional Officers, to announce the launch of Miami-Dade County “Neuro-Inclusive Service Days,” a groundbreaking initiative designed to improve access to essential county services for neurodiverse residents. This announcement aligns with Autism Awareness Month, reinforcing our commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility for all residents.
This initiative will provide a streamlined, one-stop experience for individuals with autism and other neurodiverse conditions, ensuring they can easily access critical county services. At the Office of the Tax Collector, we will dedicate the third Saturday of the month to welcoming individuals on the spectrum and their families, assisting them with transactions related to driver’s licenses, identification cards, specialty vouchers, and license plates. These efforts aim to foster a safer, more accessible environment, particularly in interactions with law enforcement.
Representatives from all five Miami-Dade County’s constitutional offices were present to discuss how their respective offices will support neurodiverse residents within their areas of service.

“For more than 67 years, the people of Miami-Dade County didn't have the support in this sense, if you have a condition and you are in need of an I.D. you have to have a patient customer service representative that can assist you and understand you, and my office staff is prepare to do that, in our Downton Miami office, for now, and hopefully across all Miami-Dade in a near future.” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez.
