Dozens of families were helped at the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office during the first day of the Neuro-Inclusive Service Program Day

Miami-Dade, FL – April 19, 2025 – The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office in Downtown Miami hosted its first-ever Neuro-Inclusive Service Day, assisting dozens of families with children on the autism spectrum. The event, held today, was designed to help these individuals navigate the process of obtaining an identification card or driver license, providing essential government services in an accommodating and supportive environment.  

“I’m proud to stand with Commissioner Raquel Regalado, Property Appraiser Tomas Regalado, and representatives from the offices of Sheriff Rosi Cordero, Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, and Clerk and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin to launch our first-ever Neuro-Inclusive Service Day,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “This program is about making it easier for individuals with autism and other sensory or developmental needs to access essential services like driver licenses, ID cards, and tag renewals.”  

The initiative, spearheaded by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Raquel Regalado, brought together key constitutional officers, each offering personalized services tailored to individuals of all abilities. Looking ahead, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office will continue to host Neuro-Inclusive Service Days every third Saturday of the month. The initiative will offer dedicated access to individuals with special needs who require driver licenses or identification cards.
